Familial Paget's disease's with early onset.

چکیده
now accepted that Paget’s disease may run in families, though uncommonly. The family with Paget’s disease reported here consists of a father and two daughters. The father’s case is of interest because of the rare type of malignant change which led to his death, and the affection in the two daughters is notable for the unusually early onset at eighteen years. There are three other siblings, two brothers and a sister, who are all in the fourth decade of life. None presents any clinical abnormality and radiographic examination of their skulls and pelves showed no skeletal changes.

Linkage of Parkinson’s disease in two very early onset siblings to a locus on chromosome 1
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disease that usually affects individuals over 50 years of age. Age at onset in a small subset of PD cases is considerably lower, and these are considered early-onset PD (EOPD) patients. Most PD cases appear sporadic, but approximately 15% are familial, and some of the familial cases exhibit Mendelian inheritance. Genetic analysis of fami...
متن کاملEvaluation of Genome in Early Familial Coronary Artery Disease: A Case Report
Background and Objectives: Coronary artery diseases (CAD) are the most common cause of death in Iran and worldwide. Myocardial infarction (MI) is a complex multifactorial and the most severe type of CAD. Early onset MI in first degree relatives could be considered as an independent risk factor for CAD. This study was performed to investigate the genetic cause of early onset familial CAD. Cas...
متن کاملGenetics of Paget's disease of bone.
PDB (Paget's disease of bone) is a common condition characterized by focal increases in bone turnover affecting one or more sites throughout the skeleton. Genetic factors are important in the pathogenesis of PDB and many families have been described where PDB is inherited in an autosomal-dominant fashion. Several candidate loci for susceptibility to PDB and related syndromes have been identifie...
متن کاملFamilial amyloid polyneuropathy in Portugal: New genes modulating age‐at‐onset
OBJECTIVES Familial amyloid polyneuropathy (FAP ATTRV30M) shows a wide variation in age-at-onset (AO) between clusters, families, and among generations. We will now explore some candidate genes involved in altered disease pathways in order to assess their role as genetic modifiers of AO, using a family-centered approach. METHODS We analyzed 62 tagging SNPs from nine genes-NGAL,MMP-9,BGN,MEK1,...
متن کاملPaget’s Disease of Bone and Genetic Disorders of RANKL/OPG/RANK/ NF- B Signaling
Identification of the RANKL/OPG/RANK/NF-kB (receptor activator of nuclear factor -B ligand / osteoprotegerin) signaling pathway as the major regulatory system for osteoclastogenesis began with discovery of these ligands and receptors in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. Subsequently, genetically altered mice revealed physiologic roles for these proteins in bone biology. However, full...
